Neil squeals as Caleb picks him up like that, a shrill, happy noise. He clings to him, laughs, holds tight. And as they go, he showers Caleb's face with happy, excited kisses, grinning the whole time.

They reach the bedroom, the bed, and Neil considers.

"I want you to put me down for a second," he says. "So we can get naked?"
